Job Description

We currently seek a highly capable individual with a background in separation science and detection to join our Global Analytical and Microbiology team.

As a Chemist, you will be responsible for performing and leading research, development and problem-solving projects to enable new product and platform development. You will work closely with scientists in our anchor and divisional Research, Development and Engineering (RD&E) teams to design, execute and communicate results. We are seeking candidates who have strong collaboration and teamwork skills, are self-motivated, have good communication skills, are creative problem solvers, and possess strong observation and perception skills.

What You Will Do:

  • Engage and collaborate with product development research and business partners to accelerate bringing new products to market.

  • Conduct a wide array of analytical chemistry experiments. Some of the techniques include gas and liquid chromatography (GC / LC), size exclusion chromatography (SEC), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, vibrational spectroscopy, e.g., Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and microscopy, e.g., White Light Interferometry (WLI).

  • Interpret experimental data and clearly communicate results to peers and project teams in written reports and oral presentations.

  • Stay abreast of relevant literature / technology trends and explore and assess new technologies to expand Ecolab's analytical testing capabilities.

  • Embrace Ecolab's safety culture.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field.

  • General experience in analytical chemistry techniques, e.g., GC, LC, SEC, NMR, FTIR.

  • Immigration Sponsorship not available for this role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fundamental chemical knowledge preferably in the area of analytical chemistry.

  • Working knowledge of statistics.

  • Experience developing and applying characterization techniques to a wide variety of problems.

  • Understanding of fundamental physical/chemical properties and structural activity relationships.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
